Every path starts in 2026, at things already on the record. It branches at the big choices and ends in a world, each with a price and someone who loses. Say where you stand, and see which worlds your choices lead to.
Where do you stand?
Each option below is a real proposal someone has made, with their words checked against the source. Pick the answers you would choose. Skip any you are unsure about. Your answers stay in this browser; nothing is counted yet.
Outside the US and China
The hardest question on the map. Most of the world uses AI built elsewhere, runs on chips and data centres located elsewhere, and is absent from the rooms where the rules are set. These are measured facts, each from the source named under it.
The worlds
None of them is a utopia. Each has a path from today, a way its economy and politics work, an ordinary Tuesday in 2040, what it means outside the US and China, and a price.
Already happening
Real events from the checked record at ctrlai.com, each a sign that a lever is already moving.
How this atlas is made
The levers and the options on them come from real, dated proposals. Every quotation on this page was checked word for word against the saved text of its source by a script; a quotation that fails is left out.
The worlds, their paths and their Tuesdays are imagined. They are a first draft written by Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for the Humantopia team to cut, rewrite and extend. Years on a path are illustrations, not forecasts. Links marked "on record" go to real events.
Version 0.2 has nine worlds and options on nine levers. Options marked “new” were added in this version. The atlas is meant to grow to hundreds of paths, drawn by many people.
